After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone,


Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, ‘Sit here while I go over there and pray.’


One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.’


When all the people were being baptised, Jesus was baptised too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened


One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.


They replied, ‘Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life.’


About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray.


As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning.
