One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, ‘How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?’


I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, ‘My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?’


As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. ‘Tell us,’ they said, ‘when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?’


‘When you see “the abomination that causes desolation” standing where it does not belong – let the reader understand – then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.


‘Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.


‘As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.’


He replied: ‘Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, “I am he,” and, “The time is near.” Do not follow them.
