Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.


And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.


They discussed this among themselves and said, ‘It is because we didn’t bring any bread.’


John’s baptism – where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or of human origin?’ They discussed it among themselves and said, ‘If we say, “From heaven”, he will ask, “Then why didn’t you believe him?”


When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit.


Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him.


‘Then the owner of the vineyard said, “What shall I do? I will send my son, whom I love; perhaps they will respect him.”


So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. ‘What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?


The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.


They discussed it among themselves and said, ‘If we say, “From heaven,” he will ask, “Why didn’t you believe him?”


and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people.


This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.


You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.


Now if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.


but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
