After Amaziah king of Judah consulted his advisors, he sent this challenge to Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel: ‘Come, let us face each other in battle.’


For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast. On the first day remove the yeast from your houses, for whoever eats anything with yeast in it from the first day until the seventh must be cut off from Israel.


When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom.


Thinking he was in their company, they travelled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.
