On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,


‘ “Sir,” the man replied, “leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig round it and fertilise it.


He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.
