Now, Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone, Lord, are God.’


Then Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God. He stood before him and said, ‘Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. So please accept a gift from your servant.’


Wealth and honour come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.


Do you have an arm like God’s, and can your voice thunder like his?


Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his mighty power known.


Your arm is endowed with power; your hand is strong, your right hand exalted.


In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him.


And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.

Moses said to the people, ‘Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.’


But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.


The Lord will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.


I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me.


Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you.


so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.


This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.
