so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God and that there is no other.


Then Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God. He stood before him and said, ‘Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. So please accept a gift from your servant.’


When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realised that this work had been done with the help of our God.


In every province and in every city to which the edict of the king came, there was joy and gladness among the Jews, with feasting and celebrating. And many people of other nationalities became Jews because fear of the Jews had seized them.


The nations will fear the name of the Lord, all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.


I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me.


Let them vanish like water that flows away; when they draw the bow, let their arrows fall short.


Let them know that you, whose name is the Lord – that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.


The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will grip the people of Philistia.
