‘Now let my lord send his servants the wheat and barley and the olive oil and wine he promised,


and we will cut all the logs from Lebanon that you need and will float them as rafts by sea down to Joppa. You can then take them up to Jerusalem.’


But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.


He told them everything that had happened and sent them to Joppa.


In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor.


Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, ‘Please come at once!’
