‘I am now a hundred and twenty years old and I am no longer able to lead you. The Lord has said to me, “You shall not cross the Jordan.”


The bolts of your gates will be iron and bronze, and your strength will equal your days.


Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.


‘Now then, just as the Lord promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old!
