I will sentence you to the punishment of women who commit adultery and who shed blood; I will bring on you the blood vengeance of my wrath and jealous anger.


But righteous judges will sentence them to the punishment of women who commit adultery and shed blood, because they are adulterous and blood is on their hands.


Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly,


When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born.


At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered round him, and he sat down to teach them.

At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.

They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: ‘By what power or what name did you do this?’


So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.
