Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers and the people,


He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about thirty-five kilograms.


‘You are Israel’s teacher,’ said Jesus, ‘and do you not understand these things?


Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Messiah?
