Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved? Under the apple tree I roused you; there your mother conceived you, there she who was in labour gave you birth.


Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols? I will answer him and care for him. I am like a flourishing juniper; your fruitfulness comes from me.’


‘Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognised by its fruit.


But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.


On that day you will realise that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.


I in them and you in me – so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.


Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.

whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.


Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
