Moses then said to Aaron, ‘This is what the Lord spoke of when he said: ‘ “Among those who approach me I will be proved holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honoured.” ’ Aaron remained silent.


As for the man who does this, whoever he may be, may the Lord remove him from the tents of Jacob – even though he brings an offering to the Lord Almighty.


‘The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master.


‘Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.


When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?’


So he called him in and asked him, “What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you cannot be manager any longer.”


‘Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.


‘You are Israel’s teacher,’ said Jesus, ‘and do you not understand these things?


Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul.


And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.


For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due to us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.


So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,


They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.


And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle – I am telling the truth, I am not lying – and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.


And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher.


Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.


Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters.


My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,


Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.


not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
