So the Lord God said to the snake, ‘Because you have done this, ‘Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.


Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.


Cursed be their anger, so fierce, and their fury, so cruel! I will scatter them in Jacob and disperse them in Israel.


The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.)


Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside.


When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him,


‘Then he will say to those on his left, “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.


Jesus replied, ‘Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.


‘Cursed is anyone who dishonours their father or mother.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’


The fruit of your womb will be cursed, and the crops of your land, and the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.


You are now under a curse: you will never be released from service as woodcutters and water-carriers for the house of my God.’


That day he made the Gibeonites woodcutters and water-carriers for the assembly, to provide for the needs of the altar of the Lord at the place the Lord would choose. And that is what they are to this day.
