When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, ‘I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.


‘He replied, “The Lord, before whom I have walked faithfully, will send his angel with you and make your journey a success, so that you can get a wife for my son from my own clan and from my father’s family.


Then he blessed Joseph and said, ‘May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked faithfully, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,


When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.


Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years.


Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.


This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.


and that the Lord may keep his promise to me: “If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.”

Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?


All the nations may walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.

What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.’


Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise,


It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.


The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him.


Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.


so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,


Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.


encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.


As for other matters, brothers and sisters, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.


But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
