So he said to him, ‘Go and see if all is well with your brothers and with the flocks, and bring word back to me.’ Then he sent him off from the Valley of Hebron. When Joseph arrived at Shechem,


‘We both had dreams,’ they answered, ‘but there is no-one to interpret them.’ Then Joseph said to them, ‘Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.’


Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘In my dream I was standing on the bank of the Nile,


Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, ‘The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same. God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do.


‘It is just as I said to Pharaoh: God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do.


The king replied, ‘If the Lord does not help you, where can I get help for you? From the threshing-floor? From the winepress?’


The king said to Daniel, ‘Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery.’


It is my pleasure to tell you about the miraculous signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed for me.


So he said to me, ‘This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,” says the Lord Almighty.


he said, ‘Listen to my words: ‘When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.


and said, ‘If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace – but now it is hidden from your eyes.


When Peter saw this, he said to them: ‘Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?


Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.


But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them – yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.


Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.


The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children for ever, that we may follow all the words of this law.
