‘A foreigner residing among you who wants to celebrate the Lord’s Passover must have all the males in his household circumcised; then he may take part like one born in the land. No uncircumcised male may eat it.


On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised.


On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah,


Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly.


On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.


Then he gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. And Abraham became the father of Isaac and circumcised him eight days after his birth. Later Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.


See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it.
