In the fourteenth year, Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him went out and defeated the Rephaites in Ashteroth Karnaim, the Zuzites in Ham, the Emites in Shaveh Kiriathaim


‘You gave them kingdoms and nations, allotting to them even the remotest frontiers. They took over the country of Sihon king of Heshbon and the country of Og king of Bashan.


Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan –


East of the Jordan in the territory of Moab, Moses began to expound this law, saying:


From the Desert of Kedemoth I sent messengers to Sihon king of Heshbon offering peace and saying,


Next we turned and went up along the road towards Bashan, and Og king of Bashan with his whole army marched out to meet us in battle at Edrei.


We completely destroyed them, as we had done with Sihon king of Heshbon, destroying every city – men, women and children.


They took possession of his land and the land of Og king of Bashan, the two Amorite kings east of the Jordan.
