Thus the work on the house of God in Jerusalem came to a standstill until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.


‘At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people – everyone whose name is found written in the book – will be delivered.


For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.


and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.


For we wanted to come to you – certainly I, Paul, did, again and again – but Satan blocked our way.


who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand – with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.


But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, ‘The Lord rebuke you!’


Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.
