Acts 28:23 - New International Version (Anglicised)

23 They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. He witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets he tried to persuade them about Jesus.

He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.


for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.”


He said to them, ‘This is what I told you while I was still with you: everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.’


‘My food,’ said Jesus, ‘is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.


After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.


For he vigorously refuted his Jewish opponents in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Messiah.


Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, trying to persuade Jews and Greeks.


Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.


The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, ‘Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.’


However, I admit that I worship the God of our ancestors as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that is in accordance with the Law and that is written in the Prophets,


And now it is because of my hope in what God has promised our ancestors that I am on trial today.


He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ – with all boldness and without hindrance!


Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.


also to Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier – and to the church that meets in your home:


And one thing more: prepare a guest room for me, because I hope to be restored to you in answer to your prayers.
