Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered for ever.


He will not let your foot slip – he who watches over you will not slumber;


who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken.


though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.


Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I shall never be shaken.

Blessed is the one who does this – the person who holds it fast, who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it, and keeps their hands from doing any evil.’

for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.

We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realised.


We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,


For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.


To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy –


‘Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
