Then he said to the people, ‘Prepare yourselves for the third day. Abstain from sexual relations.’


Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times.


When a man has sexual relations with a woman and there is an emission of semen, both of them must bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening.


by asking the priests of the house of the Lord Almighty and the prophets, ‘Should I mourn and fast in the fifth month, as I have done for so many years?’


Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.


Now then, what have you to hand? Give me five loaves of bread, or whatever you can find.’


So the priest gave him the consecrated bread, since there was no bread there except the bread of the Presence that had been removed from before the Lord and replaced by hot bread on the day it was taken away.
