Tell me, you whom I love, where you graze your flock and where you rest your sheep at midday. Why should I be like a veiled woman beside the flocks of your friends?


His mouth is sweetness itself; he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, this is my friend, daughters of Jerusalem.


How is your beloved better than others, most beautiful of women? How is your beloved better than others, that you so charge us?


‘Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.


‘If you love me, keep my commands.


Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.’


Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.


So with you: now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no-one will take away your joy.


Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’


Jesus said to them, ‘If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me.


The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God – he and his whole household.


For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,


May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.


If anyone does not love the Lord, let that person be cursed! Come, Lord!

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.


and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.


Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.


Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,


For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh –


Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: rejoice!


Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.


By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.


In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.


Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,’


And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
