The Jews gathered themselves in their cities throughout all the provinces of King Ahasuerus, in order to lay hand on any who sought their harm. And no man could withstand them, for the fear of them fell on all people.


Let my foes be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own shame, as with a cloak.


I will clothe his enemies with shame; but his crown shall shine on him.


Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor together, those who magnify themselves over me.


Let them be humbled and put to shame, those who seek after my soul; let them be turned back and be brought to blushing, those who plot evil to me.


Let all my enemies be ashamed and exceedingly troubled; let them turn back and be ashamed in a moment.


Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame, those who say, Aha, aha!


My tongue also shall muse on Your righteousness all the day long; for those who seek my evil have turned pale, they are brought to shame.


Behold, all those who were angered against you shall be ashamed and confounded; they shall be as nothing. And those who fight with you shall perish.


But Jehovah is with me like a mighty, awesome one. Therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not overcome me. They shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not be blessed. Their everlasting shame shall never be forgotten.


Likewise, younger ones, be subject to older ones, and all being subject to one another. Put on humility. For God resists proud ones, but He gives grace to the humble.
