He has put my brothers far from me, and my friends have truly turned away from me.


He lies in wait secretly, like a lion in his den. He lies in wait to catch the poor; he catches the poor when he draws him into his net.


The wicked have laid a snare for me; yet I do not go astray from Your Commandments.


The proud have hidden cords and a trap for me; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set snares for me. Selah.


Keep me from the traps which they have laid for me, and the snares of the workers of evil.


I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind; I am like a broken vessel.


For they do not speak peace; but they think deceitful things against the quiet ones of the earth.


Let them be humbled and put to shame, those who seek after my soul; let them be turned back and be brought to blushing, those who plot evil to me.


My enemies speak evil of me, saying, When will he die, and his name perish?


For strangers have risen up against me, and cruel men seek after my soul; they have not set God before them. Selah.


For the zeal of Your house has eaten Me up; and the reproaches of those who reproached You have fallen on Me.


My eye mourns because of affliction; O Jehovah, I have called daily on You; I have stretched out my hands to You.


All the brothers of the poor man hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him? He pursues them with words, yet they are lacking.
