He has redeemed my soul from passing over into the Pit, and my life shall see the light.


An Instruction of David; A Prayer when he was in the cave. I cried to Jehovah with my voice; with my voice I prayed to Jehovah.


I poured out my prayer before Him; I declared my trouble before Him.


Hear me quickly, O Jehovah; my spirit fails; do not hide Your face from me, lest I be like those who go down into the Pit.


Jehovah is my strength, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock; I will trust in Him; He is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.


O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not answer; and in the night, and am not silent.


I cried to Jehovah with my voice, and He heard me out of His holy hill. Selah.


Sing praises to Jehovah, O you saints of His, and give thanks at the memory of His holiness.


What profit is in my blood, in going down to the pit? Shall the dust praise You? Shall it tell of Your truth?


You have seen, O Jehovah; do not keep silence; O Jehovah, do not be far from me.


Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and give ear to my cry. Do not be silent at my tears; for I am a stranger with You, a pilgrim, as all my fathers were.


I will say to God my rock, Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the cruelty of the enemy?


Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for to You I will pray.


Do not let the flood of waters overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut its mouth on me.


To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I cried to God with my voice, to God is my voice; and He gave ear to me.


A Song. A Psalm of Asaph. Keep not silence, O God; do not be speechless, and be not still, O God.


let us swallow them up alive as the grave, and whole, as those who go down into the pit;


Trust in Jehovah forever; for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.


For the grave cannot praise You, death can not rejoice in You; they who go down into the pit cannot hope for Your truth.


And he cast him into the abyss and shut him up and set a seal on him, that he should deceive the nations no more until the thousand years should be fulfilled. And after that he must be loosed a little time.
