For Jehovah had seen the affliction of Israel to be very bitter. And one was bound, and none was free, and there was no helper for Israel.


Why do You stand afar off, O Jehovah? Will You hide in times of trouble?


You have seen, O Jehovah; do not keep silence; O Jehovah, do not be far from me.


Forsake me not, O Jehovah; O my God, be not far from me.


Draw near my soul, and redeem it; deliver me because of my enemies.


O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste for my help.


On You I have rested from the womb; You are He who took me out of my mother's bowels; my praise always shall be of You.


For He shall deliver the needy when he cries; and the poor with no helper.


And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was no one to uphold; therefore My own arm has saved for Me; and My fury upheld Me.


But all this happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples fled, forsaking Him.


And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.


Then he began to curse and to swear, I do not know the man. And immediately the cock crowed.


Behold, the hour comes, yea, has now come, that you will be scattered, each man to his own things, and you will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.


For Jehovah will bring His people justice; and He shall have compassion on His servants, for He sees that their power is gone, and only the imprisoned and abandoned remain.


For Jesus, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong cryings and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared,
