And they took the bull which was given them, and they dressed, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any who answered. And they leaped on the altar which was made.


And it happened when midday was past, and when they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor anyone who paid attention.


and have thrown their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone, and they have destroyed them.


And they spoke against the God of Jerusalem, as against the gods of the peoples of the earth, the work of the hands of man.


All those who serve graven images are ashamed, those who boast themselves in idols; all gods bow down before Him.


and have cast their gods into the fire, for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; so they have destroyed them.


They are turned back, they are greatly ashamed, those who trust in graven images and who say to the images, You are our gods.


Who has formed a god, or melted a graven image that is good for nothing?


He feeds on ashes; a deceived heart has turned him aside, so that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?


Those who make a graven image are all of them vanity; and the things in which they delight shall not help; and they are their own witnesses. They do not see nor know, that they may be ashamed.


at the time you hear the sound of the horn, the pipe, zither, the lyre, harp, bagpipe, and all kinds of music, you shall fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up.


But you have lifted up yourself against the Lord of Heaven. And they have brought the vessels of His house before you; and you, and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver, and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor know. For from Israel it came also. The craftsman made it, but it is not God. For the calf of Samaria shall be splinters.


And you see and hear that, not only at Ephesus, but almost all Asia, this Paul having persuaded, he has perverted a huge crowd, saying that those which are made with hands are no gods.


And quieting the crowd, the town clerk said, Men, Ephesians! What one of you does not know that the city of the Ephesians is a worshiper of the great goddess Artemis, and of That Fallen from the Sky?


And there you shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell.
