In the dark they dig through houses which they had marked for themselves in the daytime; they do not know the light.


If I have made gold my hope, or have called fine gold my trust;


Surely a man walks about like a shadow! Surely they are in an uproar in vain. He heaps up, and does not know who shall gather them.


Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart on them.


If a thief is found breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, no blood shall be shed for him.


Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.


How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver!


For God gives wisdom, and knowledge, and joy to a man who is good in His sight. But to the sinner He gives labor, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.


Their silver nor their gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy. For He shall make even a full, yea, a speedy end of all the dwellers in the land.


Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me.


But lay up treasures in Heaven for yourselves, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.


So is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.


Sell what you have and give alms. Make for yourselves purses which do not become old, an unfailing treasure in Heaven, where no thief comes nor moth corrupts.


And know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and would not have allowed his house to be dug through.


And when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, Yet you lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me.


And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, He said, How hardly those having riches shall enter into the kingdom of God!


Charge the rich in this world that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, He offering to us richly all things to enjoy,


Let your way of life be without the love of money, and be content with such things as you have, for He has said, "Not at all will I leave you, not at all will I forsake you, never!"
