Now at that feast the governor was accustomed to release to the people a prisoner, whomever they desired.


Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, Whom do you desire that I release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?


And there was one named Barabbas, bound with the insurgents, who had committed murder in the insurrection.


And he released to them the one who had been thrown into prison for sedition and murder, for whom they had asked. But he delivered up Jesus to their will.


Then they all cried again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas! But Barabbas was a robber.


But you denied the Holy and Just One and desired a murderer to be given to you.


who, knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but have pleasure in those practicing them.


Greet Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
