If a man sins against his neighbor, and if an oath is laid on him to make him swear, and if the oath comes before Your altar in this house,


If a man vows a vow to Jehovah, or swears an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word. He shall do according to all that comes out of his mouth.


Woe to you, blind guides, saying, Whoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.


Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifies the gold?


Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift?
