He said, Yes. And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? From their sons, or from strangers?


For the kingdom of Heaven is like a man, a housemaster, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard.


And they answered Jesus and said, We cannot tell. And He said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.


He answered and said, I will not. But afterwards he repented and went.


Hear another parable. There was a certain housemaster who planted a vineyard and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and rented it to vinedressers, and went into a far country.


Therefore tell us; what do you think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?


As a man going away, leaving his house, and giving authority to his servants, and each man's work to him, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.


Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were sinners above all men who lived in Jerusalem?


I speak as to wise men; you judge what I say.


So that, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not without fruit in the Lord.
