And a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead. And you know that your servant feared Jehovah. And the lender has come to take my two children to himself for slaves.


Yet now our flesh is like the flesh of our brothers, our sons like their sons. And, lo, we bring our sons and our daughters into bondage, to be slaves, and some of our daughters are brought into bondage. And there is no power for our hand, for other men have our lands and vineyards.


And I said to them, According to our ability we have redeemed our brothers, the Jews who were sold to the nations. And will you even sell your brothers? Or shall they be sold to us? And they were silent and did not find an answer.


If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years. And in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.


If the sun is risen upon him, blood is due for him. He should repay in full. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.


So says Jehovah, Where is your mother's bill of divorce, whom I have put away? Or to which of My creditors have I sold you? Behold, you were sold for your iniquities, and your mother is put away for your sins.


And if your brother who lives beside you has become poor, and is sold to you, you shall not compel him to serve as a bond-servant.


And when he had begun to count, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.


And they having nothing to pay, he freely forgave both. Then which of them do you say will love him most?
