And the king's servants in the king's gate said to Mordecai, Why do you transgress the king's command?


But He answered and said to them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?


And when they saw some of His disciples eating loaves with unclean hands, that is with unwashed hands, they found fault.


Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat loaves with unwashed hands?


And when the Pharisee saw it, he was amazed that He had not first washed before dinner.


And I progressed in Judaism beyond many contemporaries in my race, being much more a zealot of the traditions of my fathers.


Beware lest anyone rob you through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.
