Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done evil in Your sight; that You might be justified when You speak, and be clear when You judge.


For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax-collectors do the same?


But if we say, From men, then all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.


And tax-collectors also came to be baptized and said to him, Teacher, what shall we do?


For I say to you, Among those who are born of woman there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist. But he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.


But wisdom has been justified by all her children.


This man was instructed in the way of the Lord. And being fervent in the spirit, he spoke and taught the things of the Lord diligently, knowing only the baptism of John.


And he said to them, Then to what were you baptized? And they said, To John's baptism.


For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.


And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty, just and true are Your ways, O King of saints.


And I heard the angel of the waters say, Righteous is the Lord, who is, and was, and who will be, because You have judged these things,


And Adoni-bezek said, Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off have gathered under my table. As I have done, so God has requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.
