At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus


For Herod had laid hold on John, and had bound him, and had put him in prison because of Herodias his brother Philip's wife.


But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod.


And king Herod heard of Him (for His name had become well-known,) and he said that John the Baptist had been raised from the dead, and therefore mighty works operate in him.


The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying to Him, Go out and depart from here, for Herod will kill you.


And hearing Galilee, Pilate asked if the man is a Galilean.


And in the fifteenth year of the government of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and the Trachonitus country, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene


And Herod the tetrarch heard of all the things happening by Him. And he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead;


For truly, against Your holy child Jesus, whom You have anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the nations, and the people of Israel, were gathered together
