I know also, my God, that You try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. I, in the uprightness of my heart, have willingly offered all these things. And now I have seen with joy Your people who are present here to offer willingly to You.


then hear from Heaven, Your dwelling-place, and forgive, and give to every man according to all his ways, whose heart You know. For You only know the hearts of the sons of men.


For the wicked boasts of his heart's desire, and blesses the covetous whom Jehovah despises.


This way of theirs is their foolishness; yet their followers delight in their sayings. Selah.


For in his life he blessed his soul; yea, they praise you when you do well to yourself.


O let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just. For the righteous God tries the minds and hearts.


Everyone proud in heart is hateful to Jehovah; though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.


Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but a faithful man who can find?


Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but Jehovah ponders the hearts.


I Jehovah search the heart, I try the reins, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.


And now we are calling the arrogant blessed. Not only are the doers of wickedness built up, they also test God, and escape.


But they do all their works in order to be seen of men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments.


And when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, of a sad face. For they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to fast. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.


Therefore when you do your merciful deeds, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory from men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.


And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.


But he, willing to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?


And the Lord said to him, Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and the platter clean, but your inward part is full of plunder and wickedness.


The Pharisee stood and prayed within himself in this way: God, I thank You that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax-collector.


I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself shall be abased, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.


And he said, I have kept all these from my youth up.


And He spoke this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves, that they were righteous, and despised others:


And they watched and sent forth spies, pretending themselves to be righteous men, so that they might seize upon a word of His, that they might deliver Him in this way to the power and authority of the governor.


who devour widows' houses, and make long prayers for a show; the same shall receive a more severe condemnation.


and did not need that anyone should testify of man. For He knew what was in man.


He said to him the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me? Peter was grieved because He said to him a third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know all things, You know that I love You. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep.


Indeed, then, this one purchased a field with the reward of unrighteousness. And falling headlong, he burst apart in the middle, and all his bowels gushed out.


And they prayed and said, You, Lord, knower of all hearts, show which one You chose from these two,


And God, who knows the hearts, bore them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit even as to us.


because by the works of the Law none of all flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law is the knowledge of sin.


And He searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.


Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall each one have praise of God.


but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great price in the sight of God.


Likewise, younger ones, be subject to older ones, and all being subject to one another. Put on humility. For God resists proud ones, but He gives grace to the humble.


And I will kill her children with death. And all the churches will know that I am He who searches the reins and hearts, and I will give to every one of you according to your works.


But Jehovah said to Samuel, Do not look on his face, nor on his height, because I have refused him. For He does not see as man sees. For man looks on the outward appearance, but Jehovah looks on the heart.
