And it happened when King Hezekiah heard, he tore his clothes and covered himself with sackcloth. And he went into the house of Jehovah.


And Jehoshaphat feared and set himself to seek Jehovah, and called for a fast throughout all Judah.


Then I called a fast there at the river Ahava, so that we might humble ourselves before our God, in order to seek from Him a right way for us and for our little ones, and for all our goods.


And Mordecai understood all that was done, and Mordecai tore his clothes and put on sackcloth with ashes and went out into the middle of the city, and cried with a loud and bitter cry.


And the sons of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by Mount Horeb.
