And Canaan fathered Sidon, his first-born, and Heth,


and Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines), and Caphthorim.


God will not withdraw His anger; the helpers of pride stoop under Him.


Jehovah laughs at him; for He sees that his day is coming.


And what will you do in the day of judgment and in destruction, of ruin when it comes from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory?


Howl, O gate! Cry, O city! O Philistia, all of you, are melted away; for from the north a smoke comes, and no straggler in his ranks.


And he who lives in this coast shall say in that day, Behold, this has become of our hope to which we fled for help there, to be delivered from before the king of Assyria; and, How shall we escape?


Then Assyria shall fall with the sword, not of great man; and the sword, not of lowly man, shall devour him. For he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall become forced labor.


For this is the day of the Lord Jehovah of Hosts, a day of vengeance, that He may avenge Himself of His foes. And the sword shall devour, and it shall be filled and made drunk with their blood, for the Lord Jehovah of Hosts has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.


And you, O slain, wicked king of Israel, of whom has come his day in the time of iniquity of the end.


while they see false visions for you, while they divine a lie to you, to put you on the necks of the slain of the wicked whose day has come in the day of iniquity; it shall have an end.


So the Lord Jehovah says this: Behold, I will stretch out My hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and will destroy the rest of the sea coast.


And they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have set a fire in Egypt and all her helpers shall be destroyed.


The time has come; the day has arrived. Let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn; for wrath is on all her multitude.


The days of her judgment have come; the days of vengeance have come; Israel shall know it. The prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is insane, because of the greatness of your iniquity and the great hatred.


Are you not like sons of the Ethiopians to Me, O sons of Israel, says Jehovah? Have I not brought Israel up out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?


For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.


And the Avvim who lived in villages as far as Azzah, the Caphtorites, who came forth out of Caphtor destroyed them, and lived in their place.


And Phinehas the priest, and the rulers of the congregation and heads of the thousands of Israel with him, heard the words that the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad and the sons of Manasseh spoke. And it was good in their eyes.
