Jeremiah 12:10

Jehovah will enter into judgment with the elders of His people, and their kings; for you have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.


And I will defile rulers of the sanctuary, and will give Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.


The people of Your holiness have possessed it but a little while; our enemies have trampled Your sanctuary.


Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture, says Jehovah.


And the peaceful pastures are cut down because of the fierce anger of Jehovah.


Like the lion, He has left His den; for their land is wasted because of the oppressor's pressing fury, and because of His fierce anger.


behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, says Jehovah, and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and will bring them against this land, and against its people, and against all these nations all around. And I will completely destroy them, and make them a waste, and a hissing, and everlasting ruins.


But I said, How shall I put you among the sons, and give you a pleasant land, a beautiful inheritance among the hosts of nations? And I said, You shall call Me, My Father, and shall not turn away from Me.


And all the rulers of the king of Babylon came in and sat in the middle gate: Nergal-sharezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsechim, chief of the eunuchs, Nergal-sharezer, chief soothsayer, and all the rest of the rulers of the king of Babylon.


The shepherds with their flocks shall come to her; they shall pitch tents on her all around; they shall feed each one in his hand.


I will take up a weeping and a wailing for the mountains, and a mourning for the pastures of the wilderness; because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; nor can men hear the voice of the cattle. Both the birds of the heavens and the beast have fled; they are gone.


Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy and say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah to the shepherds: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?


And they were scattered for lack of a shepherd. And they became food to all the beasts of the field when they were scattered.


Then I heard a certain holy one speaking, and another holy one said to that one who spoke, Until when shall the vision last, concerning the daily sacrifice and the transgression that astounds, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled?


But I stormed them away on all the nations whom they did not know. And the land has been wasted behind them, from passing and from returning; for they made the land of desire a waste.


Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand what you shall answer.


But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it was given to the nations. And they will trample the holy city forty-two months.
