Are You not our God? Did You not drive out the people of this land before Israel, and give it to the seed of Your friend Abraham forever?


Oh that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleads for his neighbor!


And Jehovah would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he turned again to the camp. But his servant, Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not leave the middle of the tabernacle.

Men, brothers, this Scripture must have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke before concerning Judas, who became guide to those who seized Jesus.


God did not thrust out His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture said in Elijah, how he pleaded with God against Israel, saying,


For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "Even for this same purpose I have raised you up, that I might show My power in you, and that My name might be declared throughout all the earth."


But the Scripture shut up all under sin, so that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.


Even as Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.


All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,


You see then how a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.


Therefore also it is contained in the Scripture: "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner Stone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him shall never be ashamed."
