And it happened when Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the palace of the king's house and burned the king's house over him with fire, and died,


But the people who followed Omri were stronger than the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath. And Tibni died and Omri reigned.


And he said, Take them alive! And they took them alive and killed them at the pit of the shearing-house, forty-two men. And he left not a man of them.


And it happened when the letter came to them, they took the king's sons and killed them, seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets and sent to him in Jezreel.


And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him. And he struck him before the people, and killed him, and reigned in his place.


For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria and struck Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria. And he killed him and reigned in his place.


But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a commander of his, conspired against him and struck him in Samaria, in the palace of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and fifty men of the Gileadites with him. And he killed him and reigned in his place.


And Hoshea the son of Elah made a plot against Pekah the son of Remaliah. And he struck him and killed him and reigned in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

But the ungodly in heart heap up wrath; they cry not when He binds them.


Have all the workers of iniquity not known, eating up My people as they eat bread? They have not called on Jehovah.


But you have not called on Me, O Jacob; but you have been weary of Me, O Israel.


And from forever they have not heard, nor did they listen. Eye has not seen a God except You, who works for him who waits for Him.


But we are all as the unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as a menstruation cloth. And we all fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.


And there is no one who calls on Your name, who stirs up himself to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us, and have melted us away because of our iniquities.


For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them, nor do they seek Jehovah of Hosts.


And I sought for a man among them who should wall up a wall for the land, and stand in the break before me, that I should not destroy it. But I did not find one.


As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this evil has come on us. Yet we did not make our prayer before Jehovah our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand Your truth.


Where is your king now, that he may save you in all your cities; and your judges of whom you said, Give me a king and rulers?


I will go; I will return to My place until they confess their guilt and seek My face; in their affliction they will seek Me diligently.


And the pride of Israel testifies to his face. And they do not return to Jehovah their God, nor seek Him in all this.


And they have not cried to Me with their heart, when they howled on their beds; they gather themselves for grain and wine, and they rebel against Me.


They have set up kings, but not by Me; they have made rulers, and I knew it not. They have made themselves idols with their silver and their gold, so that they may be cut off.


Woe to those who plot wickedness and prepare evil on their beds! When the morning is light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.
