Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against him. And Hoshea became his servant and gave him taxes.


The steps of his strength shall be hampered, and his own plans shall throw him down.


For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired, and you shall be ashamed for the gardens which you have chosen.


Therefore the strength of Pharaoh shall be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt shall be your curse.


They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them; they who are makers of idols shall go into disgrace together.


And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their hope.
