And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnath-paaneah. And he gave him Asenath, the daughter of Potipherah, priest of On, for his wife. And Joseph went out over the land of Egypt.


And two sons were born to Joseph before the years of famine came, whom Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bore to him.


And as for the people, he caused them to go into the cities, from one end of the borders of Egypt even to the other end of it.


And Joseph said to the people, Behold, I have bought you this day, and your land, for Pharaoh. Lo, here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land.


And Joseph made it a law of the land of Egypt to this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth part, excepting only the land of the priests, which did not become Pharaoh's.


And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites. And David's sons were priests.


Also, we notify you, that in regard to any of the priests and the Levites, singers, gatekeepers, temple slaves, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, taxes, or custom on them.

Do you not know that those who minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? And those attending the altar are partakers with the altar.


But let him who is taught in the Word share with the one teaching in all good things.


Take heed to yourself that you do not forsake the Levite as long as you live on the earth.


For even when we were with you, we commanded you this, that if anyone would not work, neither should he eat.


Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in Word and doctrine.
