I was a father to the poor; and the cause which I did not know, I searched out.


then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;


The first in his cause seems just, but his neighbor comes and searches him.


If a ruler listens to lies, all his servants are wicked.


Many waters cannot quench love, nor will the rivers overflow it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be scorned.


To them I answered, It is not the custom of the Romans to deliver any man to destruction before he being accused may have the accusers face to face, and have had freedom to answer for himself concerning the accusation.


And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie,
