And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons to David. And they built David a house.


Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the people of Tyre;


and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastlands beyond the sea,


because of the day that comes to plunder all the Philistines and to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every survivor who helps. For Jehovah will plunder the Philistines, the rest of the country of Caphtor.


The Word of Jehovah came to me, saying,


Your riches, and your wares, your goods, your seamen, and your sailors reinforcing your seams, and the traders of your goods, and all your men of war, who are in you, and all your company which is in your midst, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin.


The Word of Jehovah came again to me, saying,


By the host of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trade, you have profaned your holy places; so I brought a fire from your midst; it shall devour you, and I will give you for ashes on the earth, before the eyes of all who see you.


So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, yea for four, I will not turn away from it. Because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pities, and his anger tore without end, and he kept his wrath forever.


So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gaza, yea for four, I will not turn away from it; because they deported as exiles to deliver up a complete population to Edom.


On the day of your standing on the other side, on the day that the strangers were capturing his force, and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, even you were like one of them.

But I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.


Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented a long while ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.


But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the Judgment than for you.
