Whether it was two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud stayed upon the tabernacle, remaining on it, the sons of Israel stayed in their tents and did not journey. But when it was taken up, they pulled up stakes.


For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.


If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?


For the Holy Spirit shall teach you in the same hour what you ought to say.


And behold, I send the promise of My father on you. But you sit in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.


And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, so that He may be with you forever,


And when the Comforter has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me.


And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.


(But He spoke this about the Spirit, which they who believed on Him should receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)


not to all the people, but to witnesses hand-picked before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He rose from the dead.


Therefore being exalted to the right of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this which you now see and hear.
