And the king answered and said to the woman, Please do not hide from me the thing that I shall ask you. And the woman said, Let my lord the king now speak.


Your servant Joab has done this thing to change the face of the matter. And my lord is wise according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all that is in the land.


And he spoke slander against your servant to my lord the king. But my lord the king is as an angel of God. And do what is good in your eyes.


For all my father's house were but dead men before my lord the king. And you set your servant among those eating at your own table. What right then have I to cry to the king any more?


And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged. And they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to do judgment.


And give to Your servant an understanding heart, to judge Your people, to discern between good and bad. For who is able to judge this, Your great people?


Is there wrong in my tongue? Cannot my taste discern desirable things?


As the refining pot for silver and the furnace for gold, so is a man to his praise.


A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.


But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, even those who because of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.


Just as we listened to Moses in all things, so we will listen to you. Only may Jehovah your God be with you as He was with Moses.
