And Amnon was so troubled that he fell sick for his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin. And Amnon thought it hard for him to do anything to her.


And there were born three sons to Absalom, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar. She was a woman with a beautiful face.


And King Solomon loved many foreign women, even the daughter of Pharaoh, Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, Hittites;


The third, Absalom the son of Maachah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur. The fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith.


These were all the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister.


Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Jehovah, she shall be praised.


Do not lust after her beauty in your heart; nor let her take you with her eyelids.
