And the king said to Abiathar the priest, Go to Anathoth, to your fields, for you are worthy of death. But I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord God before David my father, and because you have been afflicted in all that in which my father was afflicted.


Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and inscrutable things which you do not know.


For the sons of Israel shall live many days with no king, and no ruler, and with no sacrifice, and no pillars, and no ephod, or teraphim.


And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask for him according to the judgment of Urim before Jehovah. At his word they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in, he and all the sons of Israel with him, even all the congregation.

But their plot was known to Saul. And they watched the gates day and night in order to kill him.

And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David.


And David said, O Lord God of Israel, Your servant has surely heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.


And it happened when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, he came down with an ephod in his hand.


And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.


And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, Please bring the ephod here to me. And Abiathar brought the ephod there to David.
